Oregon DOC Opens Victim Notification System
January 26, 2002
The Oregon Department of Corrections has started operation of the VINE (Victim Information and Notification Everyday) service. This is an automated service that notifies victims when there is a change in an offender's status, for example when an offender is moved to another facility, escapes, is released from prison or is discharged from supervision. The system also provides information on hearings.
To use the system, a victim must first register. The victim will then receive a personal identification number which will permit access to the automated VINE telephone system.
For details, see the Oregon VINE web page or call 1-877-674-8463..
